About Health Coaching

Most women who find their way to Santosha (contentment) already know what they should be doing. They've read the books, tried the diets, downloaded the apps. What they're missing isn't information — it's a way to make it stick. That's where health coaching comes in.

What does a health coach actually do?

Health coaching sits in the space between knowing and doing. A health coach helps you understand why change hasn't held before, identify the habits that will genuinely move the needle for your health, and build a lifestyle approach that works within your real life — not a perfect, stress-free version of it.

At Santosha, sessions draw on the four pillars of lifestyle medicine — eat, move, rest and connect — to create a whole-person approach that treats your habits, stress, sleep and relationships as equally important as what's on your plate.

My approach

Health coaching at Santosha is grounded in the belief that sustainable change is never about willpower. It's about design — building the right conditions so that the healthier choice becomes the easier one.

Sessions are warm, honest and practical. There's no judgement about where you're starting from, and no one-size-fits-all plan. Instead, we work together to understand your unique patterns, pressures and goals — and build a roadmap that actually fits the life you're living.

This approach is especially suited to high-performing women navigating burnout, chronic stress, energy crashes or the sense that their body just isn't keeping up with their ambitions anymore.

What is Santosha?

Santosha (pronounced san-toe-sha) is a beautiful Sanskrit word that means contentment or inner peace.

In yogic philosophy, it’s one of the Niyamas—the inner observances of how to live well, as outlined in the Yoga Sutras of Patanjali. Santosha is about finding satisfaction in the present moment, accepting life as it is, and letting go of the constant striving for “more” that often leads to stress and burnout.

In essence, Santosha means:

  • Being at peace with yourself

  • Gratitude for what you have

  • Finding joy in simplicity

  • Trusting that you are enough

It’s not about giving up on growth or ambition—it’s about pursuing your goals from a place of wholeness, not lack.
